GBA Seeking New Treasurer

We want you to join our Board of Directors! Georgetown Business Association (GBA) is seeking a new Treasurer to join our Board… could it be you? We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about Georgetown, and has basic bookkeeping skills. This is a volunteer position, so we try to have fun even while doing the important work of supporting small businesses.

More about the role: The Treasurer works with the Executive Director and Board President to help financially plan for upcoming years, and assists with general financial management of the organization by tracking finances with Quicken. The treasurer also writes checks, pays bills and works with accountants to ensure taxes and business licenses are filed.

The Treasurer is expected to attend monthly board and membership meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 5-7 pm. Generally, board appointments last 2 years, and the time commitment is approximately 1 hour per week, except during June’s Georgetown Carnival, when the time commitment increases to approximately 3 hours per week.

The Treasurer does not need to own a business in Georgetown, but the ideal candidate will have a strong connection to and understanding of the neighborhood. If you are interested in this opportunity please email Executive Director Debra Broz at director@georgetownseattle.org, and to learn more about GBA visit www.georgetownseattle.org
